How Does the Polar Dust Affect the Correlation between Dust Covering Factor and Eddington Ratio in Type 1 Quasars Selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 16?

چکیده

We revisit the dependence of covering factor (CF) dust torus on physical properties active galactic nuclei (AGNs) by taking into account an AGN polar emission. The CF is converted from a ratio infrared (IR) luminosity contributed ($L_{\rm IR}^{\rm torus}$) and bolometric bol}$), assuming non-linear relation between intrinsic CF. select 37,181 type 1 quasars at $z < 0.7$ Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 16 quasar catalog. Their $L_{\rm bol}$, black hole mass ($M_{\rm BH}$), Eddington ($\lambda_{\rm Edd}$) are derived spectral fitting with QSFit. conduct energy distribution decomposition using X-CIGALE clumpy model to estimate torus}$ without being affected contribution stellar IR For 5720 whose quantities securely determined, we perform correlation analysis (i) (ii) $M_{\rm BH}$, (iii) $\lambda_{\rm Edd}$. As result, anti-correlations for CF-$L_{\rm CF-$M_{\rm CF-$\lambda_{\rm Edd}$ confirmed. find that incorporating emission makes those stronger which compared considering it. This indicates wind provably driven radiative pressure one key components regulate obscuring material AGNs.

quasars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Early Data Release

We have compiled a sample of 21 low redshift (z . 0.3), luminous active galactic nuclei (AGN) with large Balmer decrements (Hα/Hβ > 7) using the galaxy and QSO catalogs of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Early Data Release. Using this sample we attempt to determine the fraction of quasars with large internal absorption. We find that these AGN have Strong [O III] λ5007 and broad Hα emission, and th...

Radio-selected Quasars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

We have conducted a pilot survey for z > 3.5 quasars by combining the FIRST radio survey with the SDSS. While SDSS already targets FIRST sources for spectroscopy as quasar candidates, our survey includes fainter quasars and greatly improves the discovery rate by using strict astrometric criteria for matching the radio and optical positions. Our method allows for selection of high-redshift quasa...

The radio luminosity, black hole mass and Eddington ratio for quasars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

We investigate the MBH−σ∗ relation for radio-loud quasars with redshift z < 0.83 in Data Release 3 of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). The sample consists of 3772 quasars with better model of Hβ and [O III] lines and available radio luminosity, including 306 radio-loud quasars, 3466 radio-quiet quasars with measured radio luminosity or upper-limit of radio luminosity (181 radio-quiet quasar...

Extreme BAL Quasars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey has discovered a population of broad absorption line quasars with various extreme properties. Many show absorption from metastable states of Fe ii with varying excitations; several objects are almost completely absorbed bluewards of Mg ii; at 1

Double Lobed Radio Quasars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

We have combined a sample of 44 984 quasars, selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 3, with the FIRST radio survey. Using a novel technique where the optical quasar position is matched to the complete radio environment within 450, we are able to characterize the radio morphological make-up of what is essentially an optically selected quasar sample, regardless of whether ...
